Cast Iron Ex-Proof DB
Explosion proof Panel made of Cast Iron Enclosure
We have effectively crafted and delivered power distribution boards with ATEX and IECEX certifications for a notable end user based in Abu Dhabi. These explosion-proof panels are certified for safe operation in both Zone 1 and Zone 21 hazardous areas, specifically addressing the distinct challenges associated with powering diverse loads on offshore rig platforms. Notably, this panel holds a robust IP66 ingress protection rating, ensuring formidable defense against dust and water penetration. Furthermore, it is designed to function seamlessly across a broad ambient temperature range, spanning from -20 to +55 degrees Celsius.
The meticulously designed Ex d certified Distribution Board (DB) is expertly manufactured from Cast Iron, featuring enclosures with Ex d certification. These enclosures are explicitly engineered to withstand corrosive environments, particularly those with the presence of H2S gas. Remarkably, H2S gas exhibits notable reactivity with Aluminum enclosures, making Cast Iron a more resilient alternative in environments rich in H2S compared to Aluminum. In comparison to Stainless Steel enclosures, Cast Iron proves to be a more cost-effective option, offering durability and economy for environments susceptible to H2S exposure.
Certifications for this panel include:
- Gas: II 2G Ex db IIB+H2 T5 Gb
- Dust: II 2D Ex tb IIIC T100 C Db IP66
- Ambient Temperature: -20 to +55 Deg C
- ATEX Standards: EN 60079-0, EN 60079-1, EN 60079-31
- IECEX Standards: IEC 60079-0, IEC 60079-1, IEC 60079-31
Our design process was thorough, closely aligning with the specific requirements and preferences of the end user. We considered the intricacies of site conditions and adhered to any imposed restrictions. This collaborative approach allowed us to develop a robust solution tailored precisely to the demands of the environment.
The panel is equipped with a Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel mounting frame, specially coated with marine-grade paint to ensure durability and corrosion resistance in both onshore and offshore conditions. With a steadfast commitment to customer satisfaction, our prompt engineering support played a pivotal role in not only meeting but surpassing our customer’s expectations during the manufacturing of this ATEX and IECEX certified panel. We take pride in delivering a high level of service, ensuring that our power distribution boards not only meet stringent safety standards but also perform reliably in the challenging setting of offshore rigs.
